Women who face an unplanned pregnancy are often confused, discouraged, displaced, and lonely.
Mary was one of them. She offers some inspiring lessons for those who walk alongside women who face an unplanned pregnancy.
In the last days of her pregnancy, Mary was displaced from familiar circumstances into a strange environment.
At the time, the Roman census required every man to return to his family’s birthplace to be registered. Joseph traveled to Bethlehem, a distance of about 80 miles from Nazareth. As his intended, Mary traveled with him. When the time came for her to give birth, she did so without the benefit of close family or friends.
Even so, Jesus’ birthplace was no surprise to our Heavenly Father – but rather prophesied by the prophet Micah 700 years earlier.
If you are pregnant you may find yourself displaced. Others may push you away or kick you out. You may be forced into unfamiliar living arrangements.
But your location is no surprise to God. Let yourself be pushed away from rejection … and into His arms.
For You To Pray
Gracious Father,
You are not surprised by our circumstances. Give assurance to women who are displaced during pregnancy. Let them experience Your acceptance and comfort.
In Jesus name, Amen.
