Pregnant and Lonely? Look Around You

For You From The Word

The shepherds hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. (Luke 2:16, NLT)

For You To Think About

mom and newbornWomen who face an unplanned pregnancy are often confused, discouraged, displaced, and lonely.

Mary was one of them. She offers some inspiring lessons for those who walk alongside women who face an unplanned pregnancy.

Mary gave birth in a strange village, away from all that was familiar to her. No friends texted her on her cell phone. No relatives hovered nearby to offer encouragement. No One posted pictures of the baby on social media.

But God sent visitors to welcome her baby. Shepherds had been on the hillside now hurried to Bethlehem. Soon, magi from the east came to see her child, too.

You may look for the people who are not present to see your new baby. But look around. See who God sent instead.

For You To Pray

Gracious Father,

You use people to reflect Your presence. Send people to pregnant women. Let them know they are not alone.

In Jesus name, Amen.
